The full data for this March (2017) just came in and in the US, 10% of total energy generation nationally came from renewable sources; 2% from solar and 8% from wind.
According to the US Energy Information Administration the numbers are projected to exceed 10% in April and May.
There are many states where renewables already make up a significant portion of energy consumption. For example: Vermont has 25% usage, South Dakota has 35%, and Oregon has a whopping 49%! (For more information, or to see if your state ranks, check out our Top 10 states Using Renewable Resources blog.)
Nationally hitting the 10% benchmark is a huge milestone for the US and is proof that renewables can no longer be considered an “alternative” source for energy.
As a solar installer, Pacific Energy is proud to contribute to this renewable energy growth in Hawaii.
